Don Childrey's Uwharrie Lakes Region Trail Guide - your best resource for the Uwharrie's
UwharrieTrailblazers
- a great resource for
all things Uwharrie Forest.
The Uwharrie
Trailblazers started in 2012 as a group of trail enthusiasts who started
building a new section of trail on Little Long Mountain for The LandTrust for Central NC (Now known as Three Rivers Land
Trust).
In
2013 they helped, along with the Landtrust, lead the
first annual thru hike of the entire trail, and we have worked with Three
Rivers Land Trust on a thru hike and trail celebration each year through 2019.
In
the past several years they have worked with the Forest Service, Land Trust,
and Zoo Society to reconnect the historic trail from Jumpin’
Off Rock on Flint Hill Rd. to High Pine Church Rd. 8 miles of new and reclaimed
trail!
The
Uwharrie Trailblazers organize monthly trail
workdays, members-only hikes, and an Annual 40-mile Uwharrie
Trail Thru Hike and Celebration.
