Eagle Scout Application Checklist - Troop 420

___      1.  All information legible. Prefer you type the Eagle app and save it to your computer easy modification.  Print your final copy on one page with front and back page printing.

___      2.  Applicant’s name is correct and legible (Eagle certificate will appear this way)

___      3.  Applicant’s address – No abbreviations allowed

___      4.  Designate yourself a “male” or “female” applicant

___      5.  Enter dates for when joined Scouts, BSA, earned Second Class, First Class and Star Board of Review, etc.

___      5.  Must have at least four months between First Class and Star Board of Review dates

___      6.  Must have at least six months between Star Scout and Life Scout Board of Review dates

___      7.  Webelos Scout, earned Arrow of Light and completed the fifth grade question answered

___      Age Requirement Eligibility: Date of birth entered

___      Requirement 1:  Enter Life Board of Review date - at least six months between Life Board of Review and Eagle Board of Review

___      Requirement 2: Six references with full info is required to be listed. Only five is you do not have an employer.  If you do not have a religious reference you must list an individual you would seek spiritual guidance from.

___      Requirement 3: List the twenty-one merit badges earned: month, day, year entered. Enter unit # where each was earned. Optional merit badges should be entered by date earned.

                        A. ____ Any four required merit badges prior to Star Board of Review noted on app

                        B. ­_____Any additional required merit badges (7 total) prior to Life Board of Review date entered.  Credit may be given if applicant earned both Emergency Preparedness and Life Saving.  Same is true with Cycling, Hiking and Swimming. Same with Environmental Science and Sustainability.  Hand mark through the merit badges not earned.

___      Requirement 4: Must serve at least six months in a position of responsibility between Life and Eagle Board of Review.  See application for list of positions eligible.

___      Requirement 5:  Enter the information from the Eagle Service Project Workbook

___      Requirement 6: This is a conference not a quick visit.

___      Certification of Applicant:

                     A.    ____ Attach Ambition and Activities/Leadership statement. The Ambition statement is in paragraph form normally ½ to ¾ page while the leadership and activities should be in outline form by year reflecting the past four years.

                     B.    _______ Applicant’s original signature, phone number and date entered

___      Signatures: All signature must be original signatures. No photo copied or computer generated signatures accepted.  

___      Unit Approval:

                    A.    Scoutmaster’s original signature, phone number and date entered

                    B.     Unit Committee Chair’s original signature, phone number and date entered

___      BSA Local Council Verification: Completed by the Cape Fear Council Registrar

___      Requirement 7: District and Council approval

                  A.    Both original signatures signed by the District Eagle Scout Board of Review following successful completion of the Eagle BOR.

                  B.     Council Executive original signature as application approval.
